Poornima Ramkumar awarded Fellowship for Breakthrough Biomedical Research

Poornima Ramkumar, Kampmann lab

Dr. Poornima Ramkumar, postdoctoral fellow in the Kampmann lab, was awarded the Postdoctoral Fellowship from the UCSF Program for Breakthrough Biomedical Research (PBBR). Her goal is to elucidate mechanisms by which cancer cells become resistant to immunotherapy, and to identify combination therapy targets that can prevent resistance to immunotherapy. Poornima is using CRISPR-based genetic screens to uncover factors in multiple myeloma cells that control response to immunotherapy mediated by CAR-T cells, in collaboration with co-mentor Dr. Kole Roybal (UCSF).

Congratulations, Poornima!
