Emmy Li (graduate student, Biomedical Sciences Program) was awarded the National Defense Science & Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship. In her research, Emmy plans is elucidating the mechanisms by which APOE4, the most common risk gene for Alzheimer's Disease, affects neurons and glia. She will leverage the Kampmann Lab's CRISPRi/a functional genomics platform in iPSC-derived cell types and pioneer approaches to investigate interactions between neurons and glia.
