Kun Leng Awarded NIH F30 Fellowship

Kun Leng, Kampmann lab

Kun Leng, an MD/PhD student in the Kampmann lab, received an F30 fellowship from the NIH National Institute on Aging (NIA/NIH). Kun has pioneered CRISPR-based functional genomics in human iPSC-derived astrocytes. In his research, he uses this technology to elucidate the mechanisms controlling inflammatory states of astrocytes, which are thought to contribute to neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's Disease. Ultimately, his goal is to understand how we could control these states of astrocytes to promote beneficial function and block harmful properties in the context of disease. Congratulations, Kun!!!
